A pergola is an outdoor landscaping feature that is used to create a shaded walkway or passageway for your garden, deck, or patio. They are typically built from large vertical beams that support crisscrossed wooden slats, which provide shade. These slats are also ideal for planting creepers, vines, and other shade-providing plants.

Hiram, GA is a city located in Paulding County, and is about 25 miles northwest of Atlanta. It was first incorporated by the Georgia General Assembly in 1891, and got its name from Hiram Bagget, who was the town’s local postmaster.
The settlement was initially known as Gray’s Mill, after Garrett Gray, a prominent farmer who was one of the first settlers in the area, and made many contributions that led to the incorporation of the city in 1891, such as building the first cotton gin in the county in 1836, as well as a large mill that was built in 1850. This mill was a popular gathering place for the townsfolk, who often held picnics, baptisms, and other events in the area.
Today, Hiram is well-known for its historic downtown, which is still full of unique, turn-of-the-century buildings, as well as nationally-recognized retailers, and parks like Ben Hill Strickland Sr. Memorial Park, which has a 500-seat amphitheatre. Pickett’s Mill Battlefield, one of the most well-preserved Civil War battlefields in Georgia, is also nearby. The population of Hiram, GA grew from just 1,361 in 2000 to 3,546 in 2010 – and the estimated population today is over 4,100.
